Ground-based Ionospheric Observations

The Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) operates a wide array of ground-based geophysical observatories. Among these are an array of magnetometer stations at the Westcoast and Eastcoast of Greenland and a number of riometer and imaging riometer installations in Greenland and at Svalbard. Further the DMI operates three digisonde stations jointly with Phillips Laboratories, USAF, and takes part in the operation of the Incoherent Scatter Radar facility at Sondrestrom managed by SRI International for National Science Foundation, USA.
