As announced earlier, DMI will host an OIST lunch get-together during the AGU Fall meeting, where we will discuss plans for the next OIST meeting and plans for GRL special issue submissions - or alternatives.
The lunch will be held in Moscone Room 232 on Saturday, December 16 from 12:00-1:30. This is immediately after the Ørsted Poster Session. The maximum number of participants is 32. If you have not done so already, please notify isp@dmi.dk of your interest in joining us.
Dear colleagues,
We invite you to submit abstracts for the session:
G5.05: Crustal Magnetic Fields Derived from Satellite Data at the IAGA-IASPEI 2001 joint Scientific Assembly in Hanoi, 19-31 August 2001.
Deadline for the receipt of abstracts is 1 February 2001
G5.05: Crustal Magnetic Fields Derived from Satellite Data
Scope: Satellites such as POGO, MAGSAT, and Ørsted have provided nearly global coverage of geomagnetic measurements at longer wavelengths, i.e., 500- 3000 km. These data provide a unique perspective on the thermal regime, on geologic provinces of interest to petroleum and mineral exploration and on the nature, thickness, and evolution of the Earth's lithosphere. Papers are solicited in the following areas: the method and techniques used to isolate crustal geomagnetic signatures from satellite data; the interpretation of satellite crustal magnetic signatures in terms of magnetization and magnetization contrasts; and the interpretation of satellite crustal magnetic anomalies in terms of crustal structure, mineralogy, and Earth's history.
Convener: D. Ravat, Department of Geology, Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, IL 62901-4324, USA; Fax: +1 618 453 7393; Email: ravat@geo.siu.edu
Co-conveners: J. Dyment (France), J. Quinn (USA)
Information on abstract submission, registration, and accommodations can be found at: http://www.IAGAandIASPEI.org.vn/frame.htm
We apologize if you get multiple notices of this session as a result of being on different mailing lists.
